10 most popular cars to steal in the U.S.

Most stolen cars within the United States

It is always a good idea to know which cars are the ones that might get stolen from you. The most stolen cars within the U.S. is something the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety decided was significant to make certain is known. The IIHS just released the newest list of stolen cars for the year. It is kind of surprising but not to any thieves.

Escalade is the top car

Car thieves love to steal Cadillac Escalades more than any other automobile. It appears like this is normal. Six of the IIHS reports have this very same Escalade car on the top. An Escalade is seven times more likely to be stolen than any vehicle. Anti-theft features are actually installed in the automobiles quite a bit. Car thieves just tow them away to avoid these. The Escalade, vs. other SUVs like the Land Rover, is more glamorous making it a target. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has the full report.

Raccoons vs. car thieves

Bright and shiny things are what raccoons tend to be interested in. Nobody actually knows if raccoons are attracted to these metals. There is proof that thieves like shinier cars though. Generally, targets consist of luxury SUVs, luxury cars and full size pickups on the IIHS report. Probably the most stolen cars are listed below:

  • The Cadillac Escalade
  • Next is the Ford F250 4 Door
  • Infiniti G37 2 door
  • Dodge Charger HEMI
  • Chevrolet Corvette Z06
  • Hummer H2
  • Nissan Pathfinder Armada
  • Another choice car to steal is the Chevrolet Avalanche 1500
  • Now there is the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew
  • The GMC Yukon is tenth

Thieves want performance cars, luxurious SUVs and big pickups. Thieves like to get extra things with the deal. Generally a truck can have tools in it.

Be surprise at the other list these cars are on

These cars are on an additional list too. It will surprise you. The Forbes list of Worst Made Cars on the Road has the Escalade and Ford F250 on it. Essentially remember this, a flashy car is likely to get you as a target for thieves. Unless you have the cash for a new car.
