Facebook has Gmail killer setting free on the planet

While Google has a head start in the webmail client area with Gmail, Facebook thinks there is a Gmail monster that’s ready for the world. This is Project Titan, writes TechCrunch. Specialists predict that Facebook’s highly predicted webmail client could give Gmail a run for the money.

Gmail killer rumors since February

Facebook's current messaging platform could be replaced with the Gmail killer called Project Titan, Gizmodo says. Users could have a @facebook.com e-mail address with a full POP and IMAP support. This webmail platform may also contain message search capability and, most considerably, enables Facebook users to send messages to people outside of the Facebook network. Performing basic online tasks can be done on Facebook by users without going anywhere else. The Facebook Press Room reported that Facebook has about 500 million active users. With this in mind, we know that it is a good idea to keep those people in Facebook as much as possible.

All about Project Titan

TechCrunch explains what Project Titan really is. It won't be a simple upgrade to message services that already exist. It is a webmail client that is fully powered. However, seems like likely that there can be bugs at launch, as is the case with any new product. A "huge amount of potential" is seen by those looking into it though.

Online world all about Facebook

The social networking world is something Facebook already has won over. Photos could be stored on it too which is popular. Also, many like the events calendar and the games that have a micropayments system that works really well. It is possible the Gmail killer Project Titan really could work seamlessly into existing platforms while also cutting into Gmail's webmail market share. If this happens, Mark Zuckerberg and his company could be in for it. This is probably why the freedom of contract data made Google mad at Facebook last week. We may soon see the Gmail killer. Let's just see if it really does kill Gmail.
