It’s no wonder that Islam and the west cannot understand each other when you consider Muslim holiday season. November 16-19 marks the Muslim holiday of "Eid al-Adha. A contrast becomes evident when comparing a commercialized holiday, Christmas, with the "stoning of the Devil," the practice of Eid al-Adha.
Eid al-Adha Muslim holiday
Dec 7 is the Islamic Brand new Year while December 16 is Ashura. The forthcoming Eid al-Adha will just be beginning the holiday season. Muslim pilgrims made their way down the Mina Valley in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday. This was all so that the Jamarat Pillars may have pebbles thrown at them. The act symbolizes the Prophet Abraham’s resistance to the devil when the devil tried to talk him out of killing his only son Ishmael as a demonstration of his obedience to Allah. There’s a legend about the stoning of the Devil. It claims that Satan gave up and went back to Hell following Abraham threw rocks at him.
Stoning of the devil redone by pilgrims
Abraham’s wife Hagar tried to stop him from killing Ishmael. There's a good chance Ishmael did not like the idea. The devil in the Eid al-Adha ritual is represented with three Jamarat Pillars. The devil trying to tempt Abraham into disobeying Allah is what the largest represents. The second represents the devil tempting Hagar to try and stop him from killing their only son. Ishmael wanting his life instead of submitting to Allah due to the devil's temptation is what the 3rd represents.
Occasionally awful occurrences result from Muslim holidays
Dangerous occurrences have been begun because of Muslim holiday season in the past. You are able to only get the Jamarat Pillars by passing the Jamarat Bridge. Every year, the Muslim pilgrims all have to cross it. Hundreds of Muslims have been suffocated and crushed during the stoning the devil practice as it’s almost extremely hard to control. Saudi authorities decided they needed to help stop the issue. This is why the Jamarat Bridge was expanded into five levels. So the devil-stoners could get by means of with higher volumes of individuals, the Jamarat Pillars were replaced with huge walls.
