Miami hostage scenario at Coral Gables Bank - Bomb stays

In Florida today, a robber walked into Coral Gables Bank of America and took hostages. It is possible that there was a kidnapping connected to this Miami hostage scenario. Investigations into the connection will be ongoing. Law enforcement confirmed that the hostage situation was over before noon on Friday morning. All hostages were out of the structure.

Thursday evening, there was a kidnapping associated with the Coral Gables Bank of America heist. An explosive device was strapped to the person who was kidnapped. That person entered the Coral Gables bank. At 8 a.m., officials were notified of the Miami-area hostage situation and began their response. The transportation infrastructure around the Coral Gables Bank of America was shut down, as were the schools right across the street from the bank.

Thursday night kidnapping connected to Coral Gables Bank robbery

The Coral Gables Bank robbery started on Thurs night, with a home invasion at the Nob Hill apartments. All all-points bulletin has been issued for a red Mustang automobile with two passengers that might be linked to this kidnapping and home invasion. The FBI and police have not yet said if the individuals responsible actually entered the financial institution themselves. Either way, it was a Bank of America employee that was strapped to the explosive device. There is not yet a word on if the Coral Gables Bank hostage was actually a robbery, or if there was some other motivation for the crimes.

Explosive device remained after the Miami hostage scenario ended

The Miami-area Coral Gables Bank of America has confirmed that several individuals were held hostage during the situation. The last hostage left Coral Gables Bank relatively easily. By 11:20 a.m., everybody had exited the structure. However, FBI and police confirm that the bomb squad is nevertheless on the scene. The bomb, which was initially reported as strapped to the kidnapped employee, might nevertheless be inside the Coral Gables bank. The preventative and protective closures at schools and for transportation stayed in placed until anything was declared clear.
